Marbeh Chaim – History, Activities and Goals.

Marbeh Chaim was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1989, as a worship community and an organization to further Jewish education and provide charitable aid to families in dire straits, usually to assist them in providing their children with a Jewish education.  In 1991 its main headquarters were moved to New York City, New York, and it became certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, #11-3060935.  Since 1998 it has settled in North Miami Beach, Florida.

The reach and activities of the organization continues to grow steadily, and the following full-length educational tomes have been published and distributed in large quantities, across the USA and Israel.  Note the trademark name Marbeh incorporated in the titles.  (“Marbeh” is Hebrew for “Increase”, Marbeh Chaim means Increase Life.)

Additionally, a paperback book in English called Summer Parsha Companion with reflections on texts in Numbers and Deuteronomy was published in 2001 and has been widely distributed since.

Marbeh Chaim has over the last fifteen years been creating educational tapes for Bible study.  First cassettes and now CDs.  Three or four tapes a month are added to the list.  At this time, we have available over 250 tapes, including 100 on the Five Books Of Moses and 36 on the Psalms Of King David.  Each tape includes a complete 45-60 minute lecture.

Marbeh Chaim gives significant assistance directly to schools and to families in need of assistance for tuition, such the $36,000 grant in 2002 to help the Toras Chaim Jewish High School and College purchase its new campus in North Miami Beach, Florida.

In 2002, Marbeh Chaim also began the Ruth Homnick Memorial Tutorial Assistance Fund, which helps families with academically struggling children to hire tutors, with checks made from the Fund directly to tutors rather than parents to assure results.
